We will be hearing papers at the A&S DEAI Research Symposium on the following possible topics:

The symposium will have 3 different panels (of 3 to 4 panelists, a chair/discussant each):

• Panel #1 College of Arts & Sciences Undergraduate Students
• Panel #2 College of Arts & Sciences Graduate Students
• Panel #3 College of Arts & Sciences Tenure-Track (Assistant) Faculty & Staff

What is the symposium?

The College of Arts & Sciences Diversity, Equity, Accessibility and Inclusion Committee is chaired by Prof. Steven Verney, and includes professors Eleuterio Santiago Díaz, Siobhan Mattison, Ara Winter, Kathy Powers, Nahir Otaño Gracia and Joanna Camacho Escobar. At the request of Dean Jennifer Malat, this committee seeks to promote Collaboration, Celebration, Education, and Action.

For the Celebration component, we are inviting our research community within the College of Arts & Sciences to share their works-in-progress and active research projects during UNM Research & Discovery Week. It will be an opportunity to connect and receive feedback along the research journey. We will close this Celebration of research with a Keynote Address from Dr. AnitaMarshall, Assistant Instructional Professor at the University of Florida and the Executive Director of the International Association for Geoscience Diversity.
