Personal Statement:

I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and received my BA in Psychology and Spanish from the University of New Mexico. I am currently in the Executive MBA program at UNM and scheduled to graduate in September 2018. I have worked at UNM for almost 15 years, starting as a student employee at the Office of Sponsored Projects. After 4 years at OSP, I accepted a Contract & Grant Administrator position at the Center for High Technology Materials, where I assisted faculty with grant submissions. Before joining the College of Arts & Sciences, I was a Senior Program Manager for Research Administration at the UNM Cancer Center for 10 years. In this role, I was responsible for providing comprehensive advice, consultation, and facilitation to researchers on all aspects of grant preparation and submission. I also participated in the planning and development of major research grants and programmatic initiatives. In addition to pre-award, I managed post-award activity for funded projects including the Cancer Center Support Grant (P30) from the National Cancer Institute. I am thrilled to be part of the A&S team and I hope to develop tremendously positive relationships working with diverse groups of people from faculty to staff and students engaged in research.
