6.5 million years of sea-level stands in the Western Mediterranean reconstructed

UNM Distinguished Professor Yemane Asmerom and Research Scientist Victor Polyak, both of the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, and an international team of scientists and collaborators used cave deposits from the Mediterranean island of Mallorca to reconstruct past sea-level stands. Their new findings, Sea-level stands from the Western Mediterranean over the past 6.5 million years, were just published in the journal Scientific Reports.
