We are pleased to announce the 2014 recipients of the Arts & Sciences William P. & Heather W. Weber Teaching Awards: senior lecturers Kelly Howe, Ph.D., and Marieken Shaner, M.S., from the Department of Biology and, senior lecturer Derek Martinez, Ph.D., from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Congratulations!

This award honors Lecturers or Part Time Instructors who exemplify excellence in teaching of any science/math discipline within the College at the undergraduate level. Each year, one or two faculty members are awarded stipends of up to $2,000.

Nominees are evaluated on the basis of the breadth, as well as the quality, of their instructional contributions. Preference is given to those who have demonstrated instructional excellence both inside and outside of the classroom by making significant contributions to undergraduate science/math instruction through undergraduate teaching, undergraduate student mentorship and training, and departmental or interdisciplinary curricular developments.
