A discursive, literal, or figurative "Square of Space" seems to be what we look for, construct, and hope to maintain in our attempts to shelter our person and families. Given the violence in the experience of refugee lives, and their uprooted worlds, this presentation hopes to demonstrate some of the ways families have negotiated their displacements, and relocations, to create new beginnings.

There will be a poetry reading on the subject afterward by both Dr. Kalfopoulou and by Diane Thiel of UNM’s English Department.
