I hold a B.S. Ed. in Mathematics degree from UNM, along with having 9 years of experience teaching math at Del Norte High School. I also have extensive experience in mortgage banking and retail business management, and I am a distance runner as well as an avid reader. I enjoy working with students to resolve all of the different problems they may have, and helping them to reach their full potential not only as students but also productive members of today’s society.

I am an alumnus of UNM! I am a former public-school teacher and (re)aspiring public school teacher. I am going back to school for a degree in Mathematics, with the intention of teaching middle school math! Most people think I am CRAZY—I would say ambitious. I really love working at UNM and talking with students about their passions for life and what drives them to be successful. I know it’s hard to decide what to be when you graduate…come in and let’s figure it out together!

I graduated from UNM with a BS in Anthropology in 1997 after relocating from the Midwest. I joined the A&S Advisement team in 2010 after serving as the Sociology Department advisor for several years. For me, advising is collaboration where students are given the knowledge and resources they need to order to become active participants their own success.

Born and raised in Ohio, I received a BA in History from Ohio Dominican University in 2009. Shortly after, I relocated to New Mexico and I have been loving the sunshine since. I joined the A&S Advisement team in the Summer of 2011 after working with prospective UNM students in Admissions and Recruiting. I feel right at home as a part of this advisement team, and it is allowing me to pursue graduate studies in Linguistics. I try to get to know the students I advise--their background, interests, aspirations--and I get excited when I talk to students who are excited about what they're doing.
