As a graduate of UNM, I am familiar with the unique challenges faced by students at this university, as well as the fantastic resources available to them on campus. I encourage students to sit in the driver's seat regarding their education and career goals, and I try to do everything I can to help them accomplish those goals. I look forward to meeting you and getting to know your potential!

Coordinator

Kelli is the new STEM Student Advisement Coordinator for the College of Arts and Sciences. She has earned a bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering and a masters degree in Education Leadership and Policies. Kelli admits that as an undergraduate student she often felt overwhelmed by the required work for her science and mathematics classes. However, she believes that it was her involvement in a variety of campus activities that helped her both to find a balance and to create a few of her fondest memories. Kelli hopes that as a student advisement coordinator she will be able to help STEM students to not only excel academically but to also enjoy their time as a college student as well.

I graduated from UNM with a BS in Anthropology in 1997 after relocating from the Midwest. I joined the A&S Advisement team in 2010 after serving as the Sociology Department advisor for several years. For me, advising is collaboration where students are given the knowledge and resources they need to order to become active participants their own success.

Born near Salamanca, Spain and raised in Compton, CA, I received an Associate Degree in Welding and Person Hygiene from El Camino Community College. Soon after, I relocated to Albuquerque for a small role in my favorite show, Breaking Bad. I received a Bachelor Degree in Biology, so I am excited to advise Biology students who are experiencing the same challenges that I had to overcome. I like to travel outside of the country on volunteer delegations, especially those addressing issues of under-representation of Trekkies in government leadership positions. I am a certified Master Jazzercist in three states, and I spend many of my evenings walking my dogs, Hanz and Fritz. I would describe my advisement style as strategically invasive; I try to identify every student's strengths and weaknesses in order to trick them into being successful. I can't wait to meet you!

I am a New Mexico native and received my BA in Political Science at UNM in 2011 and I am currently pursuing my MBA in Marketing at the Anderson School of Management. As an undergraduate, I worked extensively with other students in the residence halls and as a part of the New Student Orientation Program. After graduation I worked for UNM's online programs to help students complete their education at a distance. I enjoy casual blogging and thinking about maybe exercising, but instead I eat Doritos. I look forward to helping you on your way to graduation and the real world beyond.

Born and raised in Ohio, I received a BA in History from Ohio Dominican University in 2009. Shortly after, I relocated to New Mexico and I have been loving the sunshine since. I joined the A&S Advisement team in the Summer of 2011 after working with prospective UNM students in Admissions and Recruiting. I feel right at home as a part of this advisement team, and it is allowing me to pursue graduate studies in Linguistics. I try to get to know the students I advise--their background, interests, aspirations--and I get excited when I talk to students who are excited about what they're doing.
