I earned a BA in History from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI and an MA in History with an emphasis in Public History from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. I also have work towards a Master's of Science in Accounting. Although I am originally from the west side of Michigan, I spent two years in Fort Collins working on my MA and a year and a half living and working in Casper, WY before relocating to Albuquerque in the Fall of 2014. I love the college campus atmosphere and I enjoy working with students to help them make the most of their time here at UNM. I believe it is important that students set themselves up for success in their future endeavors by actively participating in their college experience. As an advisor, I am here to help students navigate that college experience by providing them with the information they need while engaging them in the advising process.
I have participated in and passed several trainings here at UNM to help me better serve UNM's diverse population. I am SAFE ZONE certified through the LGBTQ Resource Center to be an ally and offer support for LGBTQ individuals on our campus. I am GREEN ZONE certified through the Veteran Resource Center to better understand the experience of veterans, service members and their families at UNM. I am also DREAM ZONE certified through the NM Dream Team to be an "UndocuAlly" for undocumented students. My office is a safe space for you all!
