Beth Elkin

Senior Academic Advisor

Originally from Pennsylvania, I spent 12 years in New Hampshire pursing my undergraduate and graduate degrees and teaching high school. As faculty at a college preparatory school, I taught history, geography and comparative cultures. I also tutored in the learning center, coached soccer and whitewater kayaking, advised students, supervised a dormitory and oversaw the senior service learning project. In 2007 I moved to La Mesa, NM where I co-owned a business before relocating to the Albuquerque area in 2014 with my family. I have a MA in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Cultural Studies from Dartmouth College and a MS in Academic Advising from Kansas State University. I enjoy helping students develop degree plans aligned with their career and life goals as well as connecting students to campus resources and opportunities throughout their time at UNM. I am also the Arts and Sciences advisor liaison to the College Enrichment Program (CEP).
